The 10th Mountain Alpine Club is a nonprofit community dedicated to advancing alpinism in the spirit of the 10th Mountain Division.
About the Club
Our roots are grounded in the mountain Soldiers whose skill, determination, and character helped forge the legacy of the 10th Mountain Division. We honor that history not simply by remembering it, but by carrying it forward—bringing people together in the mountains to learn, train, climb, ski, explore, and lead.
At the heart of the Club is a simple idea: Link the Legacies.
We connect the pioneering mountain heritage and outdoor legacy of the original 10th Mountain Division with the Soldiers, Veterans, families, descendants, and outdoor community of today—and with the next generation who will carry that spirit into the future.
Same Spirit. New Chapter.
The places, equipment, and generations may change, but the qualities at the heart of the 10th Mountain legacy remain: competence in the mountains, resilience, leadership, fellowship, and a willingness to challenge ourselves and help others grow.
The Club represents a new chapter in that continuing story. We create opportunities for people to experience the mountains together, develop meaningful skills, build lasting relationships, and carry forward the culture that has connected generations of the 10th Mountain community.
For us, legacy is not something that belongs only to the past. Legacy is something we inherit, something we live, and something we leave for those who follow.
Every member who develops a new skill, mentors another climber, leads a group into the mountains, introduces someone to skiing, preserves a piece of 10th Mountain history, or represents the Club in the broader mountain community adds another chapter to that story.
The Club brings together current Soldiers, Veterans, families, descendants, and members of the civilian outdoor community through shared mountain experiences. From someone taking their first steps into the outdoors to experienced climbers, skiers, and mountaineers, we believe there should be a place for anyone who wants to learn, contribute, and become part of the community.
Through recreation, mentorship, education, and volunteer leadership, we work to develop competence, confidence, and character while strengthening the relationships that have always been at the heart of the 10th Mountain community.
We are not a guide service. We are a community of members learning from one another, developing capable leaders, sharing experience, and creating opportunities for others to grow.
Sempre Avanti — Always Forward.
